Wayward has a couple of restaurant projects on the roster, so naturally we have been exploring the design options for bar stools that can handle heavy traffic, and also look sharp.
We've got sucked down a little rabbit hole looking at the structural and aesthetic comparisons of 50's-70's era barstools and what kind of stools are being designed and produced now.
We're seeing materials being recycled, like lucite and brass. Similar designs that incorporate bases, legs, footrests, and seats are appearing in new furniture stores the same way they appeared in the mid-century period. We stood some new and old designs side by side to inspire some of our upcoming projects, take a peek!
