"July 20th 1963, Denis Waicosky,18, used a cardboard box to view the eclipse. Hole was punched in a box, aimed at eclipse and viewed in the interior of the box. A set up story appeared in The Tribune that day that read: "The safest way to view the eclipse is by projecting the image of the sun thru a pin hole in a piece of cardboard moron a white surface".
